Good thing is that after a 100 pages, recurring expressions are starting to make sense without having to check a dictionary. That was never the case when I read 马小跳 comics before, it all seemed brand new vocab each new book.

I've started with the series of kids books 皮皮鲁“by 郑渊洁. I'm reading "皮皮鲁和魔方大厦“, which is probably the most famous volume and was adapted in an animation movie. It's a nice read though challenging at times in terms of vocabulary. The storyline in itself is quite simple and chapters are quite short, although settings and characters change each time.
